As of about 10 A.M. (CST) this morning of September 11, 2001 (911 = emergency! – implying a ‘call for help’), the World Trade Center Towers in New York City, having been hit by hijacked commercial airliners, collapsed.  The north tower was struck by a 767 American Airlines Flight #11 which had been hijacked from Boston en route to Los Angeles. Sometime later, one report said 30 minutes, another plane crashed into the other tower.  Truly, “streams of waters” flowed as firefighters sought to extinguish the flames from the subsequent infernos; as well as water pipes having burst, causing large amounts of water to flow down the stairwells. Reports stated that fifty thousand people are employed in those two buildings.

Shortly after that, a plane crashed into the Pentagon complex and took out 6 stories.  At the time of this writing, further information is sketchy.  An older edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica states: “The Pentagon consists of five concentric pentagons or “rings” with ten spokelike main corridors connecting the whole.  With only five floors, plus a mezzanine and basement, the height of the building is short compared with its horizontal dimensions.”  It also mentions a “5-acre center court.”  For those alert to Biblical number symbolism, please note the repetition of ‘5s’ in these events: Pentagon implying 5 sides, 5 concentric pentagons or “rings,” 5 floors, the ‘5-acre court’, and the 50,000 who are usually employed in the Trade Center Towers!  Five is the number of God’s judgment, and also His judgment unto freedom-setting power or grace.  In this instance, it is not difficult to see that God’s judgment (10,000 x 5) was taken to a very profound level!  And remember, Dan, Jacob/Israel’s 5th son, means ‘judged’:

“And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.  And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.” Genesis 30:5-6

The United States is considered the number one ‘super-power’ of the world in which not only its citizens, but many peoples of the world trust for protection. But these recent events again reveal that the only real protection comes through the powerful Arm of Almighty God!

“And the LORD shall cause His glorious Voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.” Isaiah 30:30

“ Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.” Isaiah 40:10

Here at Shepherdsfield, the previous Sunday to this tragic event, both I and Pastor Elliott Stearns were moved upon to alert the congregation. I warned of the trumpets sounding, and asked: “Can you hear the trumpets sounding?, etc.” I had also encouraged the congregation to pray in earnest throughout a period of 7 days for personal revelation regarding this being the end-time.  Pastor Stearns prayed that the Lord would make known to the world His displeasure with the Conference on Racism in Durban, South Africa and its attempt to label Israel a ‘racist state’.  Did you hear God’s trumpet declare His displeasure with the “rebellious children...that take counsel, but not of Me...” (Isa. 30:1)?

Reports continue to flood the airwaves regarding possible efforts to attack Camp David, the White House and the State Department, but these are still unconfirmed.  The mention of Camp David brings to mind that this is the first anniversary of the Camp David Accords in which efforts were again made to bring about a settlement regarding peace in Jerusalem and the Mid-East.  But let us not forget the word of the Lord as declared through His Prophet Zechariah:

“The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.  Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:1-3

It is likely that some Islamic, Arab, and/or Palestinian group has played a major part in the responsibility for these unbelievable events.  It has also been reported that the assaults on these key financial, political and military institutions of our country are the most devastating since the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.  Some reports have even said it is probably the greatest such attack ever in the world.  But the continued connection with the attack on Pearl Harbor which was labeled “The Day of Infamy” reminds us here at Shepherdsfield of Mikkel Dahl’s prophetic statements (Prophetic Digest No. 45, et al.) regarding another ‘day of infamy’ in 1987 when former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev met with Ronald Reagan to sign an Arms Reduction Treaty.  A year later, Mr. Gorbachev addressed the U.N. and received a standing ovation.  The next day God’s displeasure was also shown as Armenia experienced a devastating earthquake, which event prompted the hasty departure of President Gorbachev back to his country.

Exactly 7 days from today, Jews and Christians alike will observe the “Festival of Trumpets” (Lev. 23:24) or Rosh Hashanah.  Recently we received a report saying that: “A large scale ZEKHER L’HAKHEL ceremony will be held on CHOL HA MOED SUKKOT, October 4th, at the Western Wall.  The event will recall the Biblical commandment to gather the entire Jewish nation in Jerusalem once every 7 years for a public Torah reading, and reminder to ‘hear, study, fear God, and fulfill the Torah’s commandments’ (based on Deut. 31:12).”  Truly, we should pray for the peace of Jerusalem – so that the Prince of Peace may come!

Now keep in mind that the World Trade Center consisted of “twin” towers (north and south).  Both towers collapsed – or fell (actually separated by a short period of time)!  Consider the Scriptures regarding Babylon and the merchants of the earth (the World Trade Center being in the ‘heart’ of the financial center of New York, and at the same time, the financial center of the world)!

“And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: the merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.”  Revelation 18:11-13

The “merchants of the earth”: the World Trade Center!?

Once again, keep in mind: TWIN towers, collapsing – falling within minutes of each other!

“Babylon is fallen [first tower collapses], is fallen [second tower collapses]; and all the graven images of her gods He hath broken unto the ground.” Isaiah 21:9

The Knox Translation reads: “Babylon has fallen, has fallen; images of the gods she worshipped have come crashing to the ground.”

Now let us review the repetition of this thought as presented in other Revelation prophecies:

“And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation....” Revelation 14:8-10

“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen....” Revelation 18:2

Even if this is not the final fulfillment of the destruction of Babylon in this end-time, it is most certainly a foreshadow of things to come.  We should be very alert to events which will lead to the destruction of our financial institutions and system with which God is much displeased. Are YOU prepared?  May you be even more sensitive to the plaintive cry of the Loving Father Who is ‘bending over backwards’ extending grace and mercy to all; but also declaring JUDGMENT (555; 5 x 10,000 = 50,000)!

“And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.  The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.” Isaiah 24:2-3

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4-5

And finally, since these tragic events most certainly link with the sons of Ishmael, let us remember the truth of God’s words in the prophecy that was given regarding Ishmael:

    “And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.  And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”  Genesis 16:11-12

“His shall be a nature none can tame: hating all and hated by all....” Genesis 16:12 (Knox Translation)

There is so much more to be discussed, but here let me leave you with other things linked to these tragedies which are intriguing and worth putting “in your pipe and smoking....”

• The great amount of dust

• The 3 planes hitting the targets, and one off course

• The 2 high towers falling and later in the day a 3rd building.

• Three (3) of the concentric “rings” of the Pentagon (5) being damaged

• Towers 1, 2 and 7 collapsed, and #5 unstable

Three (3) speaks of God’s Word and its transmission (911)!  The highest one third (3))) section of the towers were directly hit causing the subsequent collapse. Here let me quote from our recently released The Book of Revelation Unveiled by Mikkel Dahl:

 “Repeatedly, as the trumpeters bugle, we are told that “the third part” of this and that died or was destroyed.  As literally stated, quite impossible!  In some instances, perhaps.  But we are expected to understand that the ‘third’ is ‘sacred’, hence, that or those who are closer to God. Trees bespeak men of importance; grass, the toiling multitudes; ‘the sea’ can be the sea, but also the emotional tide engendered at the time.  ‘Ships’ are ships, but also transportation: not only the conveyance by ships, but also inflamed emotional tide, transported or conveyed to others.

Among nations and peoples, “the third” bespeaks Israel; also other lands or peoples of Christendom.  Being ‘burned up’ is of dubious portent.  It may range from discouraged to quitting, or even rendered ineffective.  Unto many it may also mean death.” Chapter 8, pp. 74-75

And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.  Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: for He shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.” Zephaniah 1:14-18
