Mounting signs and COMMOTIONS that THIS IS IT! "Then said He unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” Luke 21:9-11 The Lord Himself commanded us to “Watch” (Mk. 13:37) and He did not say we were to “say nothing” about what we discerned from our “watching.” It is inconceivable that The END could come upon us without numerous “signs” since He promised us “signs,” as in the Scripture quoted above. The numerous “signs” the Lord did forecast, just about startling in their coming to pass, are now in our very days. But here let me draw your attention to the emphasized word in the Scripture backdrop to this article: COMMOTIONS! Its singular form appears once in Jeremiah 10:22: “Behold, the noise of the bruit [report, news, rumor] is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.” Its plural form as used in this Luke 21:9 passage is its one and only appearance in the entirety of the Authorized Version. The English definition of this word is given in our dictionaries as: “violent agitations; social disorders; popular tumults; insurrections,” etc. Phases or degrees of “commotions” could be found in past history, but NOW? Wow! Almost the entire world is in a state of “insurrection”! And if we were to include the more recent phenomena of “terrorism” and “homicide (called suicide) bombings” we could say, “Double Wow”! Again, I wish to draw your attention to that one word, “commotions,” ONCE used in our Bible, together with the factual “popular tumults” and insurrections and terrorists’ acts within numerous countries. Can we believe that that “commotions” word, being used but this one place, is WITHOUT SIGNIFICANCE? Although the events since September 11, 2001 have been less “exciting” (or troubling) to Americans and the world, yet the “madness” to establish PEACE in the MID-EAST shall become better understood soon. It appears that Israel has entered the first phase of its final WAR OF SURVIVAL! And that is what its leaders are saying! Headlines ask: “Can there be peace in the Mid-East”? The answer is: NEVER, no NEVER until the Prince of Peace has touched down.… Here let me quote from Wall Street Journal editorialist Peggy Noonan, who also quotes from other sources [emphases are mine]: We can all remember when the Mideast was not a crisis but rather an unanswered question: How will they find peace? It was a place that in our lifetimes had not achieved amity and accord but was not always at war, at least not always in full, hot war. But now everyone – literally everyone you read, hear, speak to – has the sense that events are accelerating toward some unknown outcome. And no one – no one – believes the outcome will be good. We are out of optimism. The scenarios floated are dire. “Watch Lebanon,” says the ahead-of-the-pack Charles Krauthammer. Hezbollah in southern Lebanon has 8,000 Katyusha rockets; they have already threatened to hit Haifa. If they do, Israel will answer, and not only in Lebanon but possibly in Syria, where the Hezbollah receives support. Syria would likely strike back with chemical weapons. Israel would answer unconventionally. And Armageddon is launched. Tuesday night I bumped into a celebrated foreign-policy genius at a birthday party for a friend. He told me he thought that President Bush is doing well, [and] has not yet made any serious mistakes. I said I agreed, and that I thought any effort that buys us time is good. By “us” I meant the world. He surprised me with his vehemence. “There is no ‘land for peace,’” he said. “There is only land for time.” ...But isn’t it odd that in a world full of geniuses, no one has an answer? Isn’t it amazing that the whole highly sophisticated, technologically evolved, psychologically and historically astute world feels so at the mercy of this drama, so unable to help it or end it? This is the core of the world’s pessimism: Everything you know of life tells you that there are hundreds of thousands of Muslim fanatics who are shrewd, talented and capable, and if they live in the age of “obliterates,” of weapons of mass destruction that can obliterate whole cities and countries, then some of them will get their hands on those weapons and slip through or over lines and borders. And everything you know of life and history tells you that Israel will not surrender; and that, as the writer Ron Rosenbaum, who normally speaks with a voice that is more cerebral than visceral, said this week in the New York Observer, “This is the way it is likely to happen: sooner or later a nuclear weapon is detonated in Tel Aviv, and sooner, not later, there is nuclear retaliation – Baghdad, Damascus, Tehran, perhaps all three…. The unspoken corollary of the slogan ‘Never again’ is: ‘And if again, not us alone.’” Those are the emotions coming from both sides, aimed at and springing from the Mideast, which a Catholic writer has called the vortex, the portal through which God has talked to man since the very dawn of history. The Garden of Eden, Moses, the Ten Commandments, the prophets, the birth of Christ the Redeemer, the crucifixion, the fall of the temple, the return of Israel. The Mideast is the place where God talks to us. THE WORMHOLE "THEORY"? I found the thoughts expressed by the writer in the previous paragraph particularly interesting, and I’ll tell you why. In a message on the Olivet discourse (entitled: “When Shall These Things Be?” – delivered in March of 1999; copies available), I was expounding on the Matthew 24:1-3 passage: “And Jesus went out, and departed from the Temple: and His disciples came to Him for to shew Him the buildings of the Temple. And Jesus said unto then, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world [age]?” Now here is one of the thoughts I had expressed at that time: “Do you know that the idea of talking of the destruction of the Temple in the Jewish mind took them back through centuries, to the destruction of Solomon’s Temple and the destruction of Zerubbabel’s Temple? And do you know that every time that destruction took place, it referenced a crisis or a judgment upon God’s people? Jerusalem and its Temple were considered the ‘omphalos,’ the ‘naval of the world’, the ‘belly button’; the place from which everything else took place. Even into the Middle Ages, if you were to research it, you could see that idea expressed in many of the maps during the Middle Ages and beyond. The center of those maps, an English map or an Italian map, etc., would depict Jerusalem as the center of the world. And, to the Jewish mind, when someone spoke of the destruction of the Temple, that was tantamount to speaking about end-times, ‘the end of the world as we know it,’ judgment! When Jesus referenced the Temple and its destruction and stone not left upon stone, that caused the Disciples’ minds to realize that He was speaking of the ‘end of the world as they knew it.’ And so, the Disciples came to Him privately and said, ‘When shall these things be?’ He was speaking of something much more than just God’s judgment, and the resurrection of the dead, etc. He was speaking of the Messiah coming to change things “as we know them’! That didn’t necessarily mean to them that there was not going to be any Israel left or that Planet Earth would be destroyed. But, it meant a change in the order of things – the ‘end of the world as people knew it!’ ...Jerusalem was to the Jewish mind more than just a cultural place for the Jews. Even into the Middle Ages and beyond, Jerusalem was a ‘contact point’ to use a ‘sci-fi’ term. It was a ‘wormhole’ that goes from one dimension into another – zoom, you’re there – a ‘contact place’ between Heaven and Earth. It was the place where God and Eternity met, touching with the reality of Earth. It was the city of God – ‘The Eternal City.’” You can see why the thoughts of the “Catholic writer” intrigued me. When he used the word “vortex,” I immediately thought of the ‘omphalos’ concept and ‘wormhole’ analogy. THE FOUR ANGELS AND THE FOURTH HORSE RIDER “And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.” Revelation 9:15-16 We have shown in our writings long ago that the foregoing Scripture describes the gathering of numerous nations, converging against Jerusalem for the final onslaught! Then incepts Armageddon! Those are the devilish events which precipitate Christ Almighty to streak back to earth to terminate the nuclear holocaust “lest no flesh be preserved”! When we multiply 200,000 by 1,000 as according to verse 16, we understand that that is 200 million! The four angels bound in the great River Euphrates (Rev. 9:14) can be linked to or identified with the FOURTH HORSE RIDER of Revelation 6:7-8. The 4th Horse Rider first manifested as the war machine of the Japanese Warlords who ruthlessly invaded China without factual justification (for further information request the booklet entitled Four Riders from Shepherdsfield). At that time the best available statistics for the Chinese population was that it constituted ONE FORTH of the world population. The prophecy states: “…And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:8 Then it goes on to say that the Rider’s name was DEATH and HELL followed him! Therefore, since the 4th Horse Rider was the “spirit” of “the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates” (Rev. 9:14), we are then given a glimpse of the awesome power and wisdom of Christ Almighty, Whose Hand is on the control panel of World Destiny! For, now we see the “commotions” and ‘tumults’ in the Mid-East and the Euphrates area with Iraq, Syria and Iran fomenting rhetoric and deeds straight from “Hell” and which lead to DEATH! NATIONS IN PERPLEXITY “And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” Mark 13:37 In the early stages of the forthcoming war, Muslims and those sympathetic to them will come against Israel, but when China and those under its thumb enter the battle, then shall well over 200,000 million men of war be a conceivable thought. “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:25-27 Indeed, the hearts of men have been failing! Perplexity of nations! Now we are understanding more clearly. It should also be observed that “the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” That is actually a statement of nuclear fission, for the Greek word for “heaven” in the verse ( ouranos {oo-ran-os’}) is virtually the same word as our “uranium.” Actually, the Lord was saying that when the nations open nuclear war on earth, THEN, shortly, He shall be seen coming in that cloud of glorified humans, in order to “shorten those days for the sake of His elect”: “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” Matthew 24:22 Keep watching! We have warned you before of various scenarios regarding Israel’s last days which bring the Jews there to cry out: “…Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord.” Matthew 23:39 Efforts may succeed in establishing some sort of American or international peacekeeping force, and/or that may follow another serious war in which Israel is defeated or severely weakened. As we review the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict we see that all efforts to secure a “lasting peace” have only bought portions of time – but now those portions of time have run out. As Peggy Noonan quoted the celebrated foreign policy “genius,” which I quoted earlier, “There is no ‘land for peace,’ he said, ‘There is only land for time.’” He went on to add: “This is not solvable”! |
